On 26 November 2025, Center of Excellence in Bioengineering - eBio-hub, in collaboration with Romanian Academy of Scientists – Bucharest branch and POLITEHNICA Bucharest hosted the symposium “From Scientific Research to Business”—an event dedicated to exploring how scientific research results can be transformed into sustainable business initiatives through the Venture Studio model. Organized as part of eBio-hub’s ongoing mission to foster collaboration with industry, strengthen the visibility of research activities, and cultivate an innovation-oriented culture within the scientific community, the symposium offered participants a practical and forward-looking perspective on building startups from academic discoveries.
Center of Excellence in Bioengineering - eBio-hub was delighted to organize an invited seminar by Dr. Doru Constantin, Senior CNRS Researcher at the Charles Sadron Institute in Strasbourg, who visited the hub on 20 November 2025.
Nice and thoughtful meeting in Singapore with Assoc. Prof Timothy Tan – Nanyang Technological University @ Collab/Novena. Collab provide BioMedtech startups state-of-the-art laboratory and office space at the heart of a healthcare precinct containing a university medical school, tertiary care hospital, and specialist clinical centres of excellence, having a network of partners, investors, and mentors, providing resources and expertise to accelerate growth.
Between 27–31 October, the eBio-hub team had the pleasure of hosting Professor Maria Gonta and her colleague from the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Moldova State University, for a working visit at our facilities.
The session was organised and delivered by Dr. Cornel Cobianu, Translational Research Manager at eBio-Hub. As part of the ongoing eBio-Hub training and knowledge-sharing activities, the fifth oral presentation on Intellectual Property (IP) and Technology Transfer (TT) took place on Tuesday, 14 October 2025, at the Polizu Head Office.
Between 5–9 October, the ERA Chair holder carried out a productive visit to the Technical University of Graz and Brno University of Technology to strengthen ongoing collaborations and explore new research directions within the eBio-hub initiative.
The “Microbiome & Nutrition” workshop, held on 18 September 2025 and delivered by prof. Gratiela Gradisteanu, eBio-Hub team member, convened researchers, clinicians, nutrition professionals, and graduate students to translate current microbiome science into practical nutrition strategies, with emphasis on sequencing, the strategic shift toward microbiome engineering, and the integration of nutrigenomics to understand inter-individual dietary responses.
Once again, the eBio-hub team from the Center of Excellence in Bioengineering visited the Institut Charles Sadron (ICS), CNRS, University of Strasbourg, and the Laboratoire de Physique des Solides (LPS), CNRS, Paris-Orsay.
The First Public Policy Conference “Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering Research & Education as Valuable Tools for Societal Changes” was held within the workshop “Educating Sustainability in Chemistry Programs Using Transdisciplinary Challenge-Based Learning” on 19–20 June 2025 in Madrid, Spain.
We are thrilled to share the successful completion of the Summer School on Smart Solutions for Regenerative Medicine, a two-day educational event organized by the eBio-team under the umbrella of the eBio-Hub project. This event is one of the key communication and outreach activities aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and building capacity in the field of regenerative medicine.
4th International Conference on Bioengineering and Polymer Science took place between 2 and 5 of June 2025, in Brasov, Romania. The scientific event, organized by APMG and officially endorsed by eBio-hub, brought together over 100 attendees from around the world, including participants from the USA, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Mexico, Pakistan, and more. Envisaged in the project proposal, this event represents one of the key channels for disseminating excellence and enhancing the global visibility and impact of the eBio-hub initiative. Several members of the eBio-hub team served on the Organizing Committee and actively contributed to the planning and execution of the scientific program, ensuring strong alignment with the project’s goals.
eBio-hub Hosts First Open Investors Day to Foster Industry Collaboration. As part of its ongoing mission to enhance visibility and strengthen ties with industry, the eBio-hub team successfully organized the first Open Investors Day within the framework of the project. The event, chaired by the eBio-hub Translational Research Manager, served as a platform to showcase current research, encourage dialogue, and build strategic partnerships with stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.
The eBio-hub team recently visited the Laboratoire de Physique des Solides (LPS), a joint research unit of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the University of Paris-Saclay in Orsay, France. During the visit, the team met with Dr. Guillaume Tresset, Laboratory Director and member of the eBio-hub Scientific Advisory Board, as well as his team. This productive exchange strengthened the ongoing collaboration and laid the groundwork for future joint publications and new scientific initiatives.
On March 28, 2025, a course on Innovative Technologies in Medicine was delivered by Iuliana Biru to second-year medical students at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
