The hands-on workshop ''Cell Culture Basics'' was organized on October 24-25, 2024, focusing on common skills and regulations for cell culture laboratory practices and was attended by 15 participants. The workshop covered all the relevant notions beginning with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), relevant regulations and directives, and sterile lab techniques, to cell culture testing protocols, experiments and biocompatibility assesments. Participants gained hands-on experience in different cell culture procedures and tests, with step-by-step guidance from our specialized and experienced researchers: Dr. Bianca Tihauan and Dr. Gratiela Gradisteanu.
The event was part of the educational program organized by the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology and was attended over 70 students from different schools.
On 10th of October, the eBio-hub team organized an interdisciplinary workshop ''Bio-Micro-Systems innovation, challenges and future industrial applications'', as part of The International Semiconductor Conference (CAS 2024) held in Sinaia, Romania.
On 8th of October 2024, Hayden Taylor, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley was invited to give seminar on “Computational design of emerging manufacturing processes: from nanoimprint lithography to volumetric additive manufacturing”.
The eBio-hub Conference was organised in the frame of eBio-hub: Chair of Research Centre in Biomedical Engineering (HORIZON EUROPE Grant agreement No. 101087007) during the 23rd Romanian International Conference on Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (RICCCE23), as part of the Bioengineering & Biomedical Technologies at Mamaia, Romania, on 6th September 2024.
On July 11, 2024 the eBio-hub team was very happy to welcome the visit of Professor Ioan Ionescu from University Sorbonne Paris-Nord. Ioan R. Ionescu is a Professor of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics at University Sorbonne Paris-Nord (Paris 13) and at Laboratory of Processes and Materials Sciences of CNRS.
On July 4, 2024, eBio-hub team had the first review meeting with the European Commission represented by Piotr Banski, Projec Adviser and Horst Bierau, Technical Expert, regarding the implementation and progress of eBio-hub project.
On June 14, 2024, the eBio-hub team was very happy to welcome the visit of industrial collaborator Arcadie Sobetkii, scientific director of MGM Star Construct with two collaborators, Radu Ionescu Senior Researcher at Estonian University of Life Sciences, Tartu Estonia and Milton Rosero Moreano, Professor at University of Caldas, Colombia and CEO Spin-off ClayOMICs.
Between 22 and 25 of April 2024, through fun and interactive activities, the eBio-hub team is igniting curiosity and helps young minds to explore the building blocks of life – cells and DNA.
