The event brought together researchers, institutional representatives and potential applicants interested in the Horizon Europe Widening actions, providing practical guidance on upcoming opportunities, proposal preparation and strengthening institutional capacity.
During the session, CH Ciprian Iliescu and TRM Cornel Cobianu presented the project’s journey — from proposal preparation and implementation to its measurable impact on both the host institution and the national research ecosystem. Ciprian Iliescu delivered the presentation “eBio-hub: Learning from Others”, focusing on knowledge exchange, mentoring activities and the value of international collaboration. Cornel Cobianu followed with “eBIO-hub Project: From Excellent Science in Bioengineering to Business”, highlighting technology transfer, innovation outcomes and the pathway from research results to practical applications.
Their presentations offered concrete examples and lessons learned, including capacity building, improved research management practices, development of new partnerships, and increased visibility of the institution at European level. The eBio-hub project demonstrated how Twinning initiatives can strengthen research excellence, foster collaboration, and support the translation of scientific results into societal and economic impact.
The session generated strong interest and discussions with participants, providing future applicants with realistic expectations, practical advice and encouragement to engage in Horizon Europe Widening calls.
