On October 28, 2025, Dr. Gratiela Gradisteanu, Team Leader of Molecular Diagnostics at eBioHub and Associate Professor at the University of Bucharest, was invited as a guest speaker by the UMFCD Center of Innovation and eHealth to present her talk “From Gut to Glory: Harnessing the Power of Microbiome Analysis in Medicine.” Dr. Gradisteanu captivated the audience (38 participants) with an in-depth exploration of microbiome sequencing and bioinformatics workflows, demonstrating how tools such as QIIME and DADA2 transform raw sequencing reads into valuable insights about microbial diversity, dysbiosis, and disease pathways.

The presentation offered a clear and engaging overview of analytical stages—from sampling and DNA sequencing to taxonomic classification and statistical interpretation—showcasing how computational biology and precision diagnostics are driving innovation in microbiome-based medicine.
