3rd International Conference on Bioengineering and Polymer Science

07/06/2023
The 3rd International Conference on Bioengineering and Polymer Science took place between 7-10 June, 2023 at the University Politehnica of Bucharest. The event was a real success, being hosted by the Advanced Polymer Materials Group and eBio-hub team, was attended by over 120 participants from all over the word. From the total number of attendees approximately 80% were researchers from outside the University, with a considerable presence from outside the country e. g., Germany, Italy, Poland, France, Portugal, United States of America, Mexico, Australia , Singapore, etc.

The conference program featured plenary lectures and posters as well as a dedicated session to young researchers, covering a broad range of topics related to bioengineering field and biomedical application.

The plenary sessions consisted of talks given by the international outstanding researchers with world-class credentials, approaching up-to –date subjects from the field, among which:
- “Biodegradable amphiphilic copolymers with enhanced drug loading capacity and their toxicity evaluation through microfluidics”, Mihaela C. Stefan from the University of Texas at Dallas
- “Advancing Health through Technological Innovation” talk given by Chwee Teck Lim from the National University of Singapore
- “Engineering Multi-Scale Cellular Interactions for Disease Modeling and Drug Testing”, presented by Yi-Chin Toh from the Queensland University of Technology
- “Viruses as bioinspired nanocapsules”, presentation given by Guillaume Tresset the deputy director of the Laboratoire de Physique des Solides in Orsay

The scientific program was accompanied by a complex social program for our guests, consisting of visiting the most emblematic tourist attractions, such as the Palace of the Parliament (the heaviest building in the world) and Dracula Castle, along with other social activities.
