Dr. Gratiela (Pircalabioru) Gradisteanu, Steering committee member, has a PhD in Infection Biology (School of Medicine and Medical Sciences, University College Dublin, 2015) and a research background in microbiology and molecular biology. She started her research career in 2011 as a Research Assistant at Conway Institute, University College Dublin, Republic of Ireland. She has participated in 5 European projects and has had 3 international scholarships: for Master Studies (Democritus University, Greece, 2010), PhD studies (University College Dublin, Ireland, 2011-2015) and a postdoctoral fellowship (University College Dublin, Ireland, 2015-2016). Since 2016, Dr. Gradisteanu is a Research Fellow at ICUB (Research Institute of University of Bucharest) and has been actively involved in 5 national and international projects as project director.
Her main research focuses are: next generation sequencing, omic technologies, molecular diagnostic for infectious disease, microbiome in health and disease, in vivo and ex-vivo investigation of host-pathogen crosstalk during the infectious process, biomaterials and tissue engineering.
