Prof. Cornel Cobianu - Senior Researcher-Translational Research Manager at eBio-hub and Technical Expert at NANOM-MEMS srl, Romania. He is titular member of Academy of Romanian Scientists (ARS) and Vice-President of Science and Technology Section of ARS.
In the past he served on both academic and industrial research positions as follows: Senior Research Scientist first degree at National Institute for Micro-Nanotechnologies (IMT) Bucharest, Senior Technology Manager, Chief Scientist and Engineering Fellow at Honeywell International-Sensor Laboratory Bucharest (SLB), Professor of Electrical Engineering at University “Valahia” Targoviste, Romania, part-time Visiting Professor-Researcher at the University of Twente, The Netherlands, for about ten years, Scientific Director of Center of Microtechnology (CMT) Bucharest, Laboratory Manager of IMT, Research Engineer at IPRS Baneasa and Microelectronica Bucharest. Prof. Cobianu has a broad international experience in science and technology of microelectronic and sensing materials and microsystems for chemical, optical, micromechanical applications. Prof. Cobianu is cofounder of two research organizations (CMT and SLB) demonstrating a strong track record in innovation for the next generation of microdevices accompanied by a robust corporate industrial experience in technology development and transfer to a company. In addition, he has a long experience in participating in 7 EU research projects, starting from 1995 till the present time.
At present, Prof. Cobianu, as a support for the e-Bio-hub management team, is using all his experience for the realization of the ambitious objective of the eBio-hub Research Center to become a world-wide-recognized excellence center in the biomedical engineering, acting as a regional hub for knowledge development and innovation, envisioning the research outcome translation into the future medical products and services. Prof. Cobianu hold 50 US Patents, 40 EU Patents, 54 RO Patents and patent applications, 4 CN Patents and many other worldwide patents. He has published more than 170 papers in journals and proceedings.
