Dr. Madalina Musat, Steering committee member, is an associate professor at at “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, currently consultant in endocrinology at “C.I. Parhon”. She has the PhD studies in cell cycle dysregulation involved in the pathogeny of pituitary tumours were performed at Barts and the London School of Medicine Queen Mary University of London UK, under Professors Marta Korbonits’ and Ashley Grossman’s supervision, with fellowships granted from Royal College of Physicians, London UK, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest and Bart’s Cancer Research Committee. Since 2010 Dr. Musat has been a member of the International FIPA Consortium for the study of Familial Pituitary Tumours. Research fields and interests: endocrine tumours, diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, obesity.
Her research interests are: endocrine tumors and metabolic disease (diabetes and obesity), both basic research and clinical trials, microbiome analyses in endocrine diseases, DNA sequencing, direct sequencing of PCR products; RNA specific analysis techniques: RT-PCR, Real-Time PCR, Protein expression analysis: Western blot and immunocytochemistry.
